So the MP for Jalan Besar GRC Mr Loh Meng See says in Parliament:
The Government took the right moral decision by banning a planned party for gays and introducing HIV screening for pregnant women, who are increasingly at risk of being infected by their husbands.
The Government had also demonstrated, when it brought down Bugis Street, that it favoured preserving moral values over money as the place had a ‘bad image associated with transvestites’.
What’s next Mr Loh Meng See, a lynch mob?
Is Mr Loh an intolerant homophobic bigot?
We report, you decide.

Why not repost my spoof letter?
Questionable morals….
Yes, he does hold bigoted views.
What I really want to know is whether people who have similr views as him are in the majority here, since no-one can be bothered to find out what Singaporeans *really* think.
And Government shouldn’t be “upholding morals”!
I remember a survey published by the new paper. I can’t remember the exact figures but the gist of it was that a majority (more than 50%) of youths believe that Singaporeans cannot accept homosexuality while the majority of them (slightly over 50%) believe that homosexuality is alright with them.
Those with time can try searching for it off Alex Au’s site at http://www.yawningbread.org
so what is the point?
