Will work for experience

I know, its unbecoming to beg, but then if you don’t ask, you don’t get.

Are there any law firms here in Singapore who would happen to have a need for an extra pair of hands (or in this case, a brain) for the next two months? I want to make full use of my time here in Singapore to put what I’ve learnt to good use, rather than to let it all get rusty. And I also need the work experience.

Anyone who has any openings, or know of any openings, drop me an email at shianux[at]gmail.com. Thanks!

Many of the larger law firms in Singapore allow applications for summer jobs through their websites and email… just go take a look around and send in your CV.

Jol is right but our pupils are returning from PLC in mid-December so capacity/desire to take in summer interns may decline. Still, feel free to email me with some details of your interests and expectations and I’ll see if I can make some useful recommendations to you.

My advice to you is - don’t waste your time lah. You’ll learn nothing very useful. Two months is too short for the law firm to bother to teach you enough for you to be useful to itself. So it will teach you nothing except maybe its filing system and maybe a little bit of legal research which you probably already know how to do.

Very interesting. The students are a mix of undergrads and postgrads and from Europe, China, various parts of Asia as well as Singapore. It was a cultural experience in a nutshell.
