The Legal Janitor

The truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.

A small but most horribly annoying bug in OS X

with one comment

There are 2 ways to see it.

Way number 1
1. Start Textedit.
2. Type stuff.
3. Make a list item.
4. Tab-indent once to see a bullet list item.
5. Type stuff.

At this point, your font becomes Lucida Grande 12 pt, no matter what font you were using initially, or even if you use some other font as your default.

Way number 2
1. Start Textedit.
2. Press Option(Alt) + Tab.
3. Type stuff.

Same thing, you get Lucida Grande 12 pt, even if you set some other font as default.

The worst thing of all? This is a problem inherent in the text editor Cocoa framework, so it afflicts almost every single text editor application out there, including Voodoopad and Mori.

This sucks horribly because I have to keep selecting all and changing the font back to Arial. I’m so annoyed and frustrated right now I feel like kicking someone in the ass.
