It's their job. They have to do it. I thought the letters were well-drafted, quite frankly speaking. There are ruder ones out there, and with lots of grammatical and spelling problems. It's also been prepared with a view to consistency of approach towards the defense strategy.

Who would hire a litigation lawyer who is nice? If you had a big problem, you'd want the most gwailan lawyer on the block to go and rip the other side a new asshole. Nice litigators finish last.

In person, the lawyers are actually very decent, nice, likeable people. They're not loud or brash or arrogant at all. It's just part and parcel of the job.

Welcome to the fraternity!

Well, such strongly worded letters from S'pore's lawyers (on behalf of the Lees) have made many an international mag/newspaper back down and even pay damages. So this time round, Drew & Nap is using the same strong-arm tactics to scare FEER. But judging but the letters from FEER's equally vicious NY lawyer, I think we've got a good fight on our hands. Remember: if this goes all the way to court where witnesses are called, a TT-Durai-turn-of-events may acutally let skeletons fall out of the all-white cupboard.

hopefully this case will go to court and the public can get full access to informaiton discussed. but it is most probably a summary judgment will be given and all ends without much fanfare ...

Interesting to see how the lawyers' letters have been flying back and forth. I would think perhaps the intent of the tone was not so much rudeness than it is to be more emotive to provoke a faster response?

I'm curious how FEER is managed to post copies of the legal correspondence online though ...
