I read this on Voices in TodayOnline I and just couldn’t pass this up:

Letter from LAI YEW CHANI refer to the commentary “Lift marriage veil on rape” (Nov 14).
Unlike a child or a minor, a wife is capable of thinking and deciding what is best for herself.
This process, however difficult, cannot be short-circuited and replaced by the law.
Currently, our law requires a crime to be reported before it can be investigated.
This is important because the victim must first commit to seeking redress.
Correspondingly, an aggrieved wife must first declare her intention to cut off sexual relations with her husband.
We should not allow ignorance of and unfamiliarity with marital judicial procedures to confuse the issue.
Such problems are best left in the hands of our social welfare or helping services.
Similarly, we cannot expect the law to help a wife in self-denial to sort out her emotions.
Moreover, a wife on bad terms with her husband may decide to reconcile with him eventually.
Would we serve the spirit of the proposed laws better if we were to criminalise any act of forced sexual intercourse that happened before the reconciliation but has been forgiven by the wife?
Haha, I have no words. This letter speaks for itself. The fact that he is a moron is pretty much self-evident. That last sentence really takes the cake. And not only is Lai Yew Chan a moron, he is a CHRONIC moron. Do a Google search of his name and you’ll find a pretty good record of this idiot’s ravings.
