Isn’t there a whole humongous spectrum of ways to run an economy between Friedmanesque market fundamentalism and communism? This is insane reductionism - moreover, on its own terms, the video barely discusses any of Klein’s specific ideas at all. The only terms in which the makers appear to be able to conceive of her thought is in terms of “free market” versus “not free market” - and even those are lies because a lot of what Klein rejects is the use of force to bash workers’ collective movements. This is just a caricature - much like the “reviews” of Disaster Capitalism you posted in a comment on my blog. It doesn’t get to grips with the substance of what she’s said at all.
Thanks for sharing this… although the video leaves a rather bitter aftertaste. Like James Frey justifying his credentials, without quite addressing any accusations made against him.
