Cultural differences in drafting pleadings

It is convention in Victoria to use plain English, be concise, and even be nice when drafting letters. In contrast, the ones I’ve seen in Singapore tend to be “aggressive”, and not a few use legalese extensively.

Fruity Dominance

The weather is gorgeous here today in Melbourne, and I took a walk down Swanston Street (this street runs down the center of Melbourne CBD). Out of every 10 people I saw, at least 5 had earphones on. Every pair of those earphones were in signature white.

Ballroom

The men were ok, but the women were gorgeous. There’s just something hypnotically pulse-racing about the shimmering sheen of sweat on their skins as they move to the music

I went to a public lecture today, when I really should’ve been at home trying to complete a Property Law assignment due tomorrow (statutory interpretation of the Native Title Act…gah).

Chinese New Year away from home
